The meeting was convened at 7:41 PM

 

Attendance:

Board members; Walter Mitchell, Joanne Williams, Ahkeela Cade, Colleen Roth

 

Division members:

Dr. Peters, Delcenia Brown, Linda Bluford, Gloria Conway

 

Guest:

Pat McPhearson

 

 

Discussion digital banking:

Colleen; Zell is not available to our organization with the account we
presently have.

 

Walter; digital acceptance of dues, we have people that want to join all
over the state, and some that is out of state. States that do not have a
division or have a inactive division is welcome to the Ohio division.

 

Colleen; digital banking have a fee associated. People using this method
should pay the fee.

 

Pat; Nfb has used PayPal and Zell.

 

Gloria; experienced trouble with PayPal, her account was hacked and PayPal
gave no support.

 

Colleen; will go to bank to research the opportunity of digital banking.

 

 

Discussion, fundraising:

Ahkeela; murder mystery boat ride, no current schedule in Cincinnati. Will
continue to research.

 

Colleen; concerned about cost

 

JoAnne; question about raising funds with this project

 

Delcenia; wants to research if the boat rides is available in different
cities

 

Delcenia; suggested to have a fundraiser that can be accomplished sooner
than planning a boat ride

 

 

Discussion committee chairs

Walter; 2 open positions, looking for people that would like to take them.
The duties of the positions was discussed.

 

Delcenia; accepted the responsibilities of the technology committee chair

 

Dr. Peters; accepted the responsibilities of the membership committee chair

 

 

Discussion creating partnerships with other organizations:

Walter; talk to the ADA and juvenile diabetes organizations. Concerned about
the other organizations requesting funds from our members.

 

Pat; accessible medical device legislation would be a benefit to share with
them

 

Linda; Membership list should not be shared

 

Delcenia; hospitals and churches have resource sharing, it would be a
benefit if we share with their programs

 

Dr. Peters; we need documents to hand out about the DAN, there is no
information presently from the National DAN or NFB

 

Gloria; We will develop resource information documentation , but we have no
method to pass out

 

Walter; will discuss in the resource committee the information we will
provide and the method to communicate.
