The meeting was convened by President Walter Mitchell at 7:30 PM

 

Attendance:

Board: Walter Mitchell, Joanne Williams, Colleen Roth, Ahkeela Cade, Wilbert
Turner

 

Members and guest:

Wanda Sloan, Dr. Peters, Lorita Jones, Delcenia Brown, Annette Lutz, Susan
Day, Suzanne Turner, Tammy McRae, Gloria Conway

 

 

Discussion:

Fundraising Co-Chair, Wilbert Turner

Proposed a raffle where the tickets will cost $10.

We would like the chapters of the Ohio affiliate to participate. Each
participating chapter would receive 50 tickets,. The chapter would keep 25%
of the tickets that they sale as a fundraiser for their chapter, and return
the remaining 75% to us.

Example: If they sale all 50 tickets, that total $500. The participating
chapter would keep $125 and send $375 and the tickets stubs to us.

Prizes: First prize-$300; Second-$200; Third-$100.

 

Coleen: Mentioned that she believe and have received comments that people do
not want to do raffles and that they are overwhelmed with all the
fundraising going on presently.

 

Susan: No way that the Springfield Chapter could sale 50 tickets.

 

Wilbert: all chapters have someone that is diabetic. Provided positive
aspects of the projects. Recognized that Colleen suggested that June may be
the appropriate month

 

Wanda: The National DAN is conducting a split the pot.

 

Walter: Wanted to hear from the chapter Presidents on the call.

 

Colleen: Do not see a benefit.

 

Wilbert: pointed a benefit to the project

 

Colleen: The at-large chapter will meet to determine how they will support.
A donation is more likely than selling tickets.

 

Delcenia: Believe that the idea is good, she will personally buy and sale
tickets.

 

Annette: Will present the idea to her chapter.

 

Suzanne: Comment that if the chapter do not sale the tickets, return them
because another person or chapter could sale them.

 

Wilbert: gave suggestions on selling methods and/or language.

 

Dr Peters: Will support. Asked about other fundraising projects.

 

Walter: Will insure the level of current bank balance. This fundraiser will
not cause a negative outcome.
