Hello,

Here’s a rough draft of the November DAN report.

The Diabetes Action Network of Ohio meeting was called to order, by President Joanne Williams,on November 16, at 2 PM approximately. The following members were present. Joanne Williams, Delcenia Brown, Coleen Roth, David Perry, Suzanne Turner, Dr. Carolyn Peters, Karen Finn, Beth Shwendalman, Linda Bluford, and  Michelle Gulley. Shawn Calaway was our guest and national representative .

A group discussion took place amongst members and guests. Talking about the importance of being to independently monitor blood sugars, and the major necessities for having accessible equipment for diabetics who are blind.

Elections took place, by Suzanne Turner, who was nominating committee chair. Electing each of these Officers, for a two year term. All of these terms began at the 2024 NFB of Ohio State Convention, and will be up for re-election at the 2026 State Convention.
Joanne Williams was nominated for president. Delcenia Brown moved that Joanne be elected by acclimation, and Coleen Roth seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously, and Joanne Williams was elected as president.

Delcenia Brown was nominated as Vice President.
David Perry moved that Delcenia be elected by acclimation, and Coleen Roth seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously, and Delcenia Brown was elected as Vice President.

David Perry was nominated for Secretary.
Coleen Roth moved that David be moved by acclimation, and Delcenia Brown seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously, and David Perry was elected as Secretary.

Coleen Roth was nominated for Treasurer.
David Perry moved that Coleen be elected by acclimation, and Delcenia Brown seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously, and Coleen Roth was elected as Treasurer.

Annual dues were paid by the following members, in the amount of $5.
Joanne Williams, Delcenia Brown, David Perry, Coleen Roth, Dudley Roth, Suzanne Turner, Carolyn Peters, Michelle Gulley, Billy Graham, Evonne Soldan, Karen Finn, Beth Shwendalman, and Wonda Sloan. Linda Bluford payed dues through 2030.

The Diabetes Action Network of Ohio meeting was adjourned at 3:30 PM.
