Hello All! My phone died as I was driving during our conference call in Saturday. I’m hoping I didn’t miss too much and I’m sorry that happened! As we discussed at the Saturday meeting, I’ve checked into a few things.

1. I spoke with both Chocolate World in Hershey and a spokesperson at The Hershey Company who both advised me to go online to apply for donations of candy. When you begin to apply as soon as they ask the question “will this donation be used for profit to your organization?” and of course I replied “yes” I was instantly denied because they do not donate for any reason to support fundraising and or profit.
2. We could purchase candy from chocolate world at a cost of 2 boxes of 36 regular sized candy bars (72 total) for $36 which is 50 cents a bar. If sold at $1.00 a bar that’s a profit of $36. They are not the larger sized bars usually associated with fundraising but are full size.Does the group feel it’s worth it to pursue this?
3. I called the Whitaker Center in Harrisburg 3 times this morning to check into their facilities and a possible classroom for Bell Academy. I was shuffled around between offices and ended up leaving voicemails at each office I was connected to-due to no one answering in those offices. No one returned my calls as of closing time today. I will try again tomorrow. Carlton wanted us to get back to her by Tuesday with our progress with securing a location for Bell. Unless I can manage to get through tomorrow I won’t have an answer as to if they do have a classroom setting or not at Whitaker. If I reach someone tomorrow I’ll send an update with the information.
4. Matt I saw you posted a website to look into about candy fundraising. I wasn’t sure if that was for me to look into or you were going to. Please let me know what your expectation is about that. Thank you!
That’s all I have for tonight!
