 Rachael,
Thank you for your kind advice. I had already thought about turning the designs on the t-shirts into a quilt & pillow covers. I have some friends that do quilting, and they will help with the "what it takes to make it a real quilt." part. I have sewn since I was an older child, as did my mother and grandmother, so that part I can do. My husband had a lot of shirts. I may have enough to make two!

I would advise you to give yourself time when going through his things.  I got rid of everything right away.  It may not have been for the best, in hindsight.  Your situation may be different, just sharing my experiences.  Lots of love and compassion going your way!

I wondered if you might pack up his T-shirts in a box and wait a year.  In that time, you may be able to find someone who can turn them into a quilt or something similar.  Just a thought.
