Dear All,

I am excited that I am enrolling in this module of courses to learn
more about digital audio recording. I thought I would pass this information
on to others looking for a very reasonably priced DAW compatible with screen
reading software and courses to learn to use it!

Fraternally yours,
Marion Gwizdala

For all those wanting tutorials, documentation, a clear, easily accessible
way forward, everything in one place, CAVI is about to start a new semester
and the audio course has been totally revamped so that it's modular.
Whatever your ability, you can now pick and choose what you learn.

As well as a module teaching Reaper from the ground to the stratosphere, the
course offers a module covering the fundamental aspects of audio - digital
audio theory, what equipment is available and what would be best for you,
how to get the most out of your existing set-up. Learn the difference
between a low-shelf and a low-pass filter, why 0-crossings are great for
making seamless loops and inaudible edits, what the difference is between a
cardioid and hyper-cardioid microphone and why you should care.

There's also a single-track editing module that teaches Goldwave. For some
applications, Reaper offers too much or the interface is too elaborate or
clunky. Streamline simple tasks such as batch conversion and cue-point
management. Edit quickly without worrying about items.

Then there's the Reaper module, which will interest most of you here.

We teach all the ins and outs of Osara.
How to record
how to monitor your levels at every stage using fully accessible peak hold
meters so that everything sits just where it should in a mix. .
How to edit using items - growing, shrinking and nudging them to just where
you want.
Ripple editing.
How to record multiple takes of an actor's lines or musical performance so
that you can pick the best parts of each take to produce the very best
results.
How the reaper signal flow works from takes, through items, tracks, working
with the pre-effects and post-effects volumes.
How to apply effects, work with effects chains, manage presets and so on.
How to manage your projects so that directories don't get over-cluttered.
How to make sub-mixes within sub-mixes using folders.
How to send audio from one track to another to conserve resources and have
greater flexibility.
How to make your productions sparkle with automation on everything, so that
effects, panning, volume and all sorts of other settings change over time.
How to make music fade out whenever someone speaks or the bass guitar to
fade down slightly whenever the kick drum sounds so that you have a nice,
clear low end to your mixes.

You can take all three modules for as little as $200, which buys you
downloadable lectures, notes, project files to play with, indefinite access
to the course mailing list, which is full of helpful students, past and
present plus one to one support whenever you need it from not one but three
instructors - a sound designer, a musician/DJ and a professional audio
restorer.

With all these resources in one place, it's much quicker than crawling the
net for tips yourself and much better value for money than private tuition.
The introductory module alone, priced at $50, contains 8 hours of audio
content minimum.

Enrollments close on August 12th

Hope to see you there,

Justin
