Dear All,

I have been considering soundproofing my office - a
converted garage - so I can do some recording. The biggest challenge I have
is a fairly large (approximately 4-1/2 X 6') window through which I can hear
my neighbors and lots of traffic noise. I am certain these sounds will
infiltrate my recordings, since I have a very sensitive condenser mic. I
have attempted a fix recently by creating a wood frame and attaching 2-1/2"
foam board to it. It might be a great insulator against heat, but it has had
absolutely no effect on sound coming through the windo. Does anyone have any
suggestions of how I might accomplish my goal of soundproofing this window
with materials from Lowes or Home Depot?

Fraternally yours,

Marion Gwizdala
