[Perform-Talk] Resources for Electronic of Hymnals

Yes, this is something I deal with as well!

It doesn't take very long for someone to type up the lyrics for hymns
and other songs. Even if your choir director doesn't have time,
another member of the choir who is reliable might help.
If your church uses an online platform at all to download and print
their music. I'm thinking here of Planning Center or Easy Worship I
think it's called. You can also get the words from there, and you
should be able to log onto those sites yourself and get them. There
are lyrics to every song you can imagine online. Even the most
contemporary songs are available online. A site like AZ Lyrics or
similar might be able to help if you can get the list of hymns ahead
of time.

Working with another church member to Braille them up yourself is a
great suggestion too. I knew a lady who paid a reader to come and
read her the notes to her part as well as the words. That way she
could read the music and have the words to every song they sang in
choir. I know you, and your Braille skills are quite good. This
wouldn't take long for you, and you could probably find someone
willing to volunteer their time or trade it for some other service you
can do if you can't pay.

I only wish there were more hymnals with the actual music in them! I
hope you find an arrangement that works for you.
