Hi everyone,

I hope all of you were inspired and motivated by this year's
convention! I know I was.

First, I want to thank all of you who attended our meeting on
Thursday. Thank you for being patient, kind, and engaged. Our panel
went so well, and there will definitely be more where that came from,
not to speak for our newly-elected president. :) I know the virtual
platform offers us challenges we don't face in person, so I wanted to
thank all of you for hanging with us throughout introductions and
voting in particular. It was quite the process, but I knew we could
do it!

I want to give a shout-out to Suzanne Schaffer from our national
center. Working at the NFB myself, I well know the trials and
challenges we had to handle this week as we staffed Zoom meetings and
filled in at the last minute for assignments when necessary. I asked
a lot of Suzanne, and on every count, she delivered. Once I leave the
staff, I will tell anyone that our staff really are the unsung heroes
of this organization... It would be weird to say that though as I
still work there... Lol

Anyway, I am so grateful for all of you: your dedication, your ideas,
and your spirit. This division can't run without membership, you
know, since we're a membership organization, and we have some
fantastic members.

I am so excited for the future of this division. In the last five
years, we rebuilt a foundation. Now, Katelyn MacIntyre and the rest
of the current board are going to grow such a beautiful garden on that
foundation. Please don't hesitate to get involved, submit your ideas,
and engage with us here and in our Facebook group.

With love,

Julie
