[Perform-Talk] Asking for your thoughts concerning a Recent Situation.

There is something wrong with that picture. People do sometimes quit before the job starts. In teaching, of course, they have to sign contracts, and I wouldn’t think it would be good to not honor one. Ask your questions directly and tactfully before making your decision as to where to go with it next.
