*CASTING NOTICE for SHORT FILM. Seeking Blind/Visually Impaired individual,
20-30 years old. Open to all genders and ethnicities.*

*Project Description:* Catfish Medusa is a *Short Film*
*Union Status:* SAG/AFTRA, Non-Union
*Network/Studio/Production Company :* Independent Short Film from new
production company "Organic Produce"
*Director :* Alex Diehl
*Writer:* Alex Diehl
*Character Breakdown (Age, Gender Identity, Disability, Race, Ethnicity,
etc.) :* Ty is a blind pansexual 20-30 year old (character is written as
cis male, but we are open to folks of all genders and ethnicities, trans,
non-binary, everything! looking to cast a fully blind actor, butt also open
to seeing legally blind & other visually impaired actors). After the end of
a long-term relationship is trying out online dating for the first time. He
chooses to hide the fact that he is blind on his profile, after a series of
weird interactions, and ends up finding a match and starts to fall in love.
Ty's obnoxious roommate, Paul, is convinced that the girl is catfishing him
because she heavily filters her photos. Since Ty still hasn't revealed that
he is blind, Paul convinces Ty to get the girl on a videochat while Paul
stands off camera to see if she is catfishing. Once Ty tells her that he is
blind, she is hugely relieved, and turns off her filter to reveal that she
is none other than Medusa (yes, from Greek mythology, the girl that turns
you to stone if you look her in the eye). Paul, off-camera turns to stone,
as Ty & Medusa fall even more deeply in love.

Please have talent record one short, improvised scene (very natural, no
need to make it comedic) that covers the following beats--feel free to
record in actual kitchen: 1. Talking on phone (can be using earbuds or
however is easiest) with your crush while washing dishes. *please only your
side of the dialogue, we don't want to hear what the person on the other
side of the conversation is saying* 2. Your roommate comes home & you hang
up with your crush, and the roommate asks to see pictures of your
crush--you pass your phone & ask what they look like, your roommate tells
you that they think you might be getting catfished, but you don't want to
believe them because you're really starting to develop feelings. **NOTE
please keep scene to less than 3 minutes, but remember a longer audition
doesn't mean a better audition**
