[Perform-Talk] Midi software

Sorry I was unclear. I can have a a midi keyboard that's just a keyboard, where I need the computer to get sound.  The person I'd be getting it from only knows about using Garage band on a Mac to generate music. I'm probably using the wrong terminology. He said it's easy and I know Garage Band is accessible, but I only have a PC and want to know if there is accessible software for the PC. I'm not trying to do more then learn to play the keyboard and I can't afford anything else so I'm asking to see if This is something I can do, if there's software that's easy to use and accessible and free, to give me sound on my PC from the midi keyboard.
