Hello,
Hoping someone can help. I had a trial Zoom voice lesson with a teacher a friend of mine in my NFB chapter recommended. It actually went better than I expected; a few technology glitches need to be worked through, but overall not bad for a first time. The teacher is very open to making whatever adaptations are necessary to make me successful. One piece of the puzzle I had not given a lot of thought to until now is how I will manage reading my braille lyrics and monitoring breathing at the same time. The teacher teaches the student correct breathing by having them place their hand on the lower stomach to feel the expansion when breathing. this is great except when you also have to try to read braille lyrics, it could be a little difficult, so I am curious for those of you who have done online lessons, how did you negotiate this? I read braille with both hands because it is much more efficient for me than using one, so just curious how others have managed to overcome this. Luckily for today it wasn't an issue, but once i officially start lessons, it will be.
