Hi David,

Here are some additional thoughts.

1. To see the German braille alphabet go to
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brailleschrift. It is in German, but scroll
down to see the alphabet. If you want to read the text of this in English,
go to http://translate.google.com/translate_t?hl=en&sl=en&tl=lt#<http://translate.google.com/translate_t?hl=en&sl=en&tl=lt>&
paste in the Wikipedia web address & select the appropriate fields to
translate from German to English.

2. According to the Duxbury website (www.duxburysystems.com/lan_german.asp),
it looks like there are several forms of German braille, including: fully
contracted braille ("Kurzschrift"), elementary contracted braille
("Vollschrift"), or uncontracted braille ("Basisschrift"). I suggest you
contact Joe Sullivan at Duxbury for some leads.**

3. I would thus consider contacting the foreign language experts at BANA (
www.brailleauthority.org) & CTEVH/CTEBVI (www.ctevh.org).

Best wishes,

Eric V
