[Pibe-division] An interesting brail instruction problem

David,
I have had this happen several times.
I ask them what their goals for their child are and if they want the child able to keep up with their peers and acquire a job after graduation. Then I show them what the standards are for the rest of society...like reading standards. See attached. Once they start comparing what their child is doing compared to the rest of the class, that usually moves them along to the braille spectrum. If you go to nfb.org and type in Maegan's Story, you will pull up a story just like this to show your parents

I have a colleague who is looking for a case where the district and IEP recommend braille, and the parents refuse. The student involved has very poor vision, and is currently needing things enlarged from 36 point type. Any (1) success stories on convincing parents, and (2) case law would be helpful.
