Sarah, I have used the student's aid to conduct this assessment. Could you ask for an aid in the building if this is not possible? The last option would be to pay someone to accompany you during the assessment.

Subject: [Pibe-division] wanted to thank all respondents how write annnual progress reports just completed nine and submitted to local district cse

I just wanted to thank all those who responded to my query about how to write annual progress reports for students who multiple impairments in addition to being blind or visually impaired. I am just in the process collecting information the local district CSE wants which an updated eye report. I have one question I would like to pose to this list and would appreciate some feedbakce, especially from blind teachers of the blind and visually impaired? How does a teacher of the visually impaired who is blind, conduct functional vision assessments with students who are nonverbal, monambulatory have additional disabilities and are visually impaired? I aThanks for any rresponses anyone can provide. Just to note, with some students I work with an assistant from the classroom and ask to point out to me whether the student is looking at the object I am presenting to the student and to note how many times the student will look at an object. Since, I am working as an independent provider providing related service, vision education services I am not working iworking in employer in the public school sysem in new york city, so I do not have a paraprofessional. Just to inform peoplle, I understand the components of functinal vision assessment and writing a report but am curious how other TVIs who are blind conduct these assessments with the population I serve, which are students who have additional disabilities and are visually impaired. Some of my students are blind and have additional disabilities. I will just indicate to everyone that my students have developmental disabilities in addition to being visualluy impaired or blind. The students are not candidates to be taught any reading or writing. Thanks for any assistance.
