[Pibe-division] Teaching Braille to Someone with Very Limited English Skills

Good Afternoon,

I forgot to add in my original query that this adult student's native language is Spanish. I have no foreign language background. We do not have a modern notetaker, but we do have a donated classic Braillenote. I am not a user of any iOs devices. The rest of our instructors are.

The above information might help. Thanks for your suggestions so far.

Braille Instructor

You could certainly teach her braille by beginning to teach braille in her language. You could teach her the alphabet in her language and also teach her how to read and braille both the word in her language and the English word. Once her English improves you could begin introducing contractions and other English words.
