Hello:

As a former college student (A number of years ago.), the blind student needs to have the same data as his/her sighted peers. A properly done lecture has a main topic and several points which are supported by examples. I suggest that the notes the student ends up need to contain the topic, the major points and some supporting examples or at least references. Hope this helps.

Regards,

Robert

Subject: [Pibe-division] Notetaking Skills

Good Afternoon,

We have a student who is being taught skills to get ready for college along with the use ADL stuff.  The staff is noticing that whenever we ask him to listen to a slelection and take notes, he basically does one sentence recordings.  Is there any information on notetaking skills for someone who is visually impaired?
