Hello Adrijana,
I'm sorry to hear you're feeling discouraged. It's important to
understand that sighted people mean well when they say these things
but, more often than not, they are not operating from a position of
knowledge. A sighted person who has never come across a blind person
in the world of work wouldn't know what we are capable of. A coleague
of mine thought it was amazing when I said I could read aloud live
from an Internet feed using Braille. Things like that don't occur to
them. If you have found something you really want to do, conduct some
research into Braille and speech work-arounds, present yourself well
at interviews, taking care to address any bariers seen and unforseen,
and you should be fine.
