[Promotion-technology] Technology from the State on Loan?

Linda and all-

Agencies are not hesitant to buy things, but since the economy is such where
out of state travel budgets and technollgy budgets are not on the forefront
as maybe they were 2 years ago, then agencies are not so ready to open the
wallet to purchase something which to a conservative agency technologist
feels is brand new and not fully tested or documented equipment.

So, your idea is good, but just bad timing, but on the other hand, be
innovative and think and write down why your case is better then others and
justify to your counselor why you should be the tester and no one else, and
you might get yourself a Trekker Breeze.

Subject: Re: [Promotion-technology] Technology from the State on Loan?

I am just curious if anyone has heard of any offices for the blind that loan

out a product to a blind person just to see if that product would be helpful

to them. I am one of those senior citizens who is living in an unfamiliar
area, and think the Trekker Breeze would be very helpful to me. I would
have a human guide walk my routes with me so I can record them, and then
would have much more confidence walking them alone. Sometimes if something
distracts me I might forget if I have already crossed a street or is it
still coming up.

Has anyone found agencies resistant to the new technology?
Linda
