In January the Xavier Society for the Blind will switch the weekly magazine 
AMERICA from cassette to MP-3 CDs. The mag runs about 2.5 hours an issue, 
and if I had to read real speed I would go crazy, and would probably cancel 
my subscription. My Victor Vibe will speed up DAISY disks, but not MP3 or 
commercial CDs. I was thinking off getting a Victor Classic or Telex 
Scholar, if I could be sure they would speed up commercial and MP3 CDs, but 
nobody could give me an answer.

Right now my only option seems to be the Victor Stream, and copying the CDs 
from my computer to the Stream, speeding it there. I just saw that GW micro 
came out with a competitor to the Stream. Is there any take about which is 
better? I hear a disadvantage is you cannot change the batteries, as in a 
BookPort, and if you run down while on a bus or plane, you are stuck until 
you reach your destination. Is this also true of the GW machine? Are there 
any other competitors I should look into?

Can I transfer the audio file to my BookPort and speed it up there?
