People do that with all companies.
Remember the woman that put a finger in her windy's chilly?
They try that stuff all the time
Like the one that put hot coffee between her legs while driveing, coffee is
ment to be hot.

Robert, I apologize for not having written sooner, but I've been
hospitalized with pneumonia but I'm recovering at home now.
This Prius owner has had a multitude of things that haven't worked out for
him, including hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt, twenty grand owed
on the car, and he's filed for bankruptcy a couple of times.
Results have been inconclusive as to why his car went out of control, if it
ever did, and nothing has been able to have been replicated regarding this.
If you want my honest opinion, Toyota is a scapegoat for incidents with
fords, Chryslers, etc., and not much has been said about it.
If you want to be on the bandwagon, the popular thing is to bash whichever
car manufacturer is down at the moment. Take every incident with a grain of
salt and skepticism. Like the Audi incidents of the late 1980s, this too
shall passs and the minimal incidnets which are truly honorable will be
settled. It's a shame that Toyota's reputation is tarnished by unscrupulous
drivers/owners.

Hi,
There was a recent "Prius Run Away" incident West of San Diego on an
interstate highway. For those interested, the 911 call is available:
http://priuschat.com/news/runaway-prius-911-call-released-listen-here
The car is at the dealership being analyzed by NHTSA and Toyota technical
staff. Given the likely, exhaustive forensics (probably including carpet,
accelerator and brake microscopic analysis,) a final report may take a week
or more.
Many of the Prius community remain somewhat skeptical.
The driver was on the phone for 20 minutes and refused to follow the correct
procedure the 911 operator gave him (shift the car into "N" or turn it off.)
It took a police officer in a car running at high-speed in parallel using
the loudspeaker to get the driver to follow the instructions of the 911
operator. After the stop, the officer noted the floor mat and accelerator
were in the normal positions. The driver seems to be wearing a "Corvette
Club" jacket, strange coincidence. Of course these may be perfectly
innocent coincidences but we also remember "balloon boy" and a couple who
crashed a Presidential state reception.
