  The Southern Arizona Association for the Visually Impaired is seeking a
Youth Services Team Leader.  This position is management level, and is
responsible for the coordination and facilitation for all youth and
transition services.

YOUTH SERVICES TEAM LEADER


SUPERVISION RECEIVED:	 Associate Director

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:	Supervises Transition Life Coaches, Academic
Services Facilitator, Temporary Camp Staff

MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS:	

.	Masters Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Rehabilitation
Teaching, Orientation and Mobility, Teacher of the Visually Impaired or
other related blindness field, or 
.	Bachelors Degree in Rehabilitation Services, Rehabilitation
Teaching, Teacher of the Visually Impaired or other blindness related field
and two years experience working in blindness related programming, or
.	Bachelors or Masters Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Education
and 5 years working with blind and visually impaired children and adults. 
.	One year supervisory experience preferred.
.	Experience in program development preferred.
.	Strong knowledge of child and adolescent development.
.	Ability to incorporate whole agency/system and multiple needs into
all work
.	Ability and willingness to work both as part of a team and operate
autonomously
.	Exceptional communication skills in public speaking, writing and
editing communications
.	Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
.	Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships internally
and externally

BASIC JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for coordination and oversight of SAAVI
children and youth programming which includes: SAAVI's Ready Set Go
Children's Day Camp, Ready Set Go Transition Residential Summer Camp,
Steppin' Out post secondary residential program and other seasonal
activities as indicated by contracts. This position will develop and
facilitate all youth activities as well as provide case management for
students within the Steppin' Out program.  
 
JOB DUTIES:

.	Case management for all Steppin'Out students, including benefits,
medical, and transportation to SAAVI services. (Write and monitor service
plans)
.	Ensure all monthly service plans are updated for all Steppin'Out
clients, and submit all reports on time to finance staff and Vocational
Rehabilitation counselor
.	Provide direct supervision for all staff assigned under you services
.	Facilitate annual Ready Set Go Youth Day Camp each summer



.	Facilitate annual Ready Set Go Transition Summer Camp
.	Coordinate with Adult and Senior services team leaders to set and
monitor monthly/weekly schedules
.	Rotate with Adult Services Team Leader to provide on-call assistance
to residential staff concerns and issues.
.	Maintain regular contact with Vocational Rehabilitation counselors,
hold monthly client staffing, and facilitate any action or communication to
support the client's service plan, or SAAVI mission
.	Serve as point of contact for all youth service clients with respect
to referrals, intake, orientation, discipline, ETC
