- Salary: The salary range for this position is $48,963 - $87,048 per year ($23.54 - $41.85 per hour). Offered salary will be based on education and experience.

- Agency Mission & Description: Our mission is to enable persons who are blind to achieve vocational, economic and social equality by providing career preparation, training in the skills of blindness and above all, promoting and conveying the belief that blindness is not a barrier to successful employment, or to living an independent and meaningful life.
- Purpose of Position: The Center Director is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day management of a 24/7 residential rehabilitation center which provides blindness skills training to individuals attending the Center as part of an Individualized Plan for Employment through the New Mexico Commission for the Blind Vocational Rehabilitation Program.
- Duties Include, but are not limited to:
-- Oversees a staff of approximately sixteen (16) employees and a student population of   approximately fifteen (15).
-- Responsible for the preparation and management of the Center budget.
-- Represents the NM Commission for the Blind on various advisory boards.
-- Responsible for maintaining and assuring the Center meets certification through the  National  Blindness Professionals Certification Board (NBPCB), and  accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF)
-- Provides challenging blind skills training while maintaining appropriate safety standards, and while being sensitive to the needs of each individual student
-- Directs a program that instills positive attitudes about blindness
-- Provides direct training to students and staff in all subject areas, as needed
-Educational requirements: A Bachelor's Degree in Rehabilitation, Education, Special Education, Social Work, Business, Communications, or other related field is required for this position.
- Experience: Five (5) years professional experience in programs providing services to persons with disabilities, to include two (2) years experience in management is required for this position.  A Graduate Degree in Vocational Rehabilitation, Management, Education, Special Education, Orientation and Mobility, Social Work, Counseling, Business, Law or a related field and three (3) years professional experience in programs providing services to persons with disabilities, may substitute for experience.
- Employment Requirements: Employment is subject to criminal background check.  Employment is conditional pending results of criminal background check.
- Supplemental Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of assistive technology and alternative techniques used by persons who are blind, including orientation and mobility, Braille, and computer technology adapted for use by the blind; extensive knowledge of the Rehab Act and other disability laws; and a demonstrated commitment to advancing the rights and opportunities of persons who are blind are not required to qualify for this position but may be helpful.
- Working Environment: Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage.  Some travel is required.
