[rehab] Requirements for IPE WAS RSA Rules

Jan,

I think that one is under the Oregon Administrative Rules... I need to
review them all again, since it's been awhile. I suddenly can't remember
the exact wording of the one I've heard referred to in that context so
many times from so many sources here...

It seems there is something to the effect that if an item is under $1500
and you need it for work, your VRC just has to sign off on it and order
it. Whether that is true or not, is something I will have to find out.

Well, I need to review the entire section of the OARS again and refresh
my memory and parse out every word of the ones that apply to what I am
requesting and why. Again. I did all that the first time in 1999, BTW,
before I ever contacted them after I was diagnosed as having crossed
that legally blind boundary... That was mostly so that I could phrase my
first request according to what the agency is expected to do and how the
VR system works so that I could have my next few years through end stage
RP planned out and get what I needed to keep working and stay off of
SSD... Which is sort of the point, isn't it?

Anyway, thanks for the heads up on that one! I need to have my ducks in
a nice, neat row before the meeting, every feather in place exactly,
with my recording equipment set up and all. So I'm grumpy. This costs me
time and print cartridges and paper so I can pull out the necessary
rules and laws for her to read to me. /lol/

I'm waiting to see if she, based on my request to have my case reopened
and to get going on the accurate and competent assessment they should
have done 13 years ago, will bring me a big pile of print catalogs and a
slate and stylus. /lol/ They do this when an Oregonian wakes up totally
blind and gets hold of them, too. Then they tell the person why they
can't provide services because the new blind consumer asks questions.
Like how to order things out of a print catalog or how to use the slate
and stylus they've never even heard of before... And so on. Those are
standard VR services in Oregon. That's them doing their job, helping the
blind. I am not making that up. Oh, they do inform you that you are
welcome to order anything you want out of the catalog. Anything at all!
Isn't that nice?

Since it looks to me that this has not changed, nor have other patterns
and trends I'm tired of paying taxes to support, while I and a few
others do what we can to clean up their mess in people's lives, wishing
those people weren't afraid (yes, literally, afraid!) to tell their
stories publicly), I might as well add a new chapter to my own story.
Because I'm not afraid at all. What are they going to do? Refuse to
provide me services? Sheesh!
