Thanks, Jane! I wasn't aware of that NFB tech loan. I'll look into it! 
The utter fiasco of 2006 did not do good things for my credit score, and 
staying in the black with extra medical and no supplementary income for 
my SSD has made rehabbing my credit a distant dream... But I'll see what 
happens.

My goal with the agency at this point is to do my best to make them 
follow those laws and rules or to have plenty of evidence that they are 
not doing so by the time I am done. Sigh.

So I really appreciate all the advice and insight from all of you who 
know about the system and now work in it yourselves /grin/

It is always instructive, also, to observe the reaction of a VRC from the agency to a consumer who arrives at the meeting with her homework done and in a nice, neat, well-organized information packet as if it were some sort of professional project or something... Then when I remind them of this or that rule which I have memorized, or pick out that part of the packet by feel of where I put the stapel or clip...
