Low Vision and Braille Math Manipulatives to Teach Math in a Public School

I am Jim Franklin, a special education teacher from Elm Street Elementary
in Rome, Georgia, who invented a number line to 10,000,000 and other math
manipulatives that address the standards of fractions, decimals, elapsed
time, weight, capacity, and money. They are also available for low vision
and blind students.

I received notification that my article was published in the 2015 Summer
issue of the Council for Exceptional Children's Visual Impairment and
Deafblind Education Quarterly Journal on pages 9-26 It is about a Georgia
high school resource teacher who is deaf and blind and uses my braille
manipulatives during her lessons with her students. Her students use my
regular student versions.

FYI: I encourage you to search "Rounding Math Manipulatives" and then click
on "Images" to see what is currently available for students to use.

My manipulatives are used in all academic settings in many parts of the
United States and Canada, including assistive technology centers and blind
and deaf schools. I also had an article published in the Fall 2014 NFB's
Future Reflections. For additional articles and information, please visit
www.slidearoundmath.com, especially my "Latest News" tab. Feel free to call
706-506-8411 or send me an email if you have any questions.

Please forward to your colleagues and have a great day!

Jim
