When I worked for the state of MN they hired reader/drivers starting at $11
or $12 an hour as intermittent state employees. This way they only worked as
needed, but they didn't have benefits.

Subject: [rehab] Seeking information on hiring readers and drivers

Hi All:

I am doing a little research and hope to get some information from you guys.
I'd like to know how much other VR agencies as well as Federal Government
agencies pay reader/scribes? Are they state employees or contract workers?
And since I am asking, I'd would also like to know how VR agencies handle
drivers? Are they State employees or contract workers? And again wages and
liability insurance? Years ago my agency had 2 driver positions but these
were illiminated to reduce spending.

Feel free to email me off list as not to clutter this list.
Thanks so much for your help.
