[rehab] Being both a client and employee

I am not sure I understand the confidentiality thing. If a person is employed, he/she could apply for post-employment services, although as Jan points out, anything needed should probably be handled as a reasonable accommodation. If he/she was applying, to get another job, etc., I would think he/she should be considered as would anyone else.

Subject: [rehab] Being both a client and employee

Hello fellow rehab enthusiasts,

I have heard recently of a state agency serving the blind which has a practice of not allowing employees to become clients of the agency. I am told that this is because there have been confidentiality issues in the past. To me, this seems to violate the spirit of the rehab system, so I'm wondering if anyone knows if this is allowed.

Thanks for any input anyone may have!

Aloha,
Justin
