Hi everybody,

Thank you for your insights so far. If it may be useful, the client that brought this to my attention is someone who is working for an agency but has career goals a bit beyond what they are doing currently at the agency. I guess I should call the person a "prospective client" because this person has been denied services. The person has been directed to the general agency because the Blind agency does not want to serve them because they are an employee and have confidentiality concerns, an agency which does not serve blind people, where the person has been denied, or found ineligible. It is being argued that, because the person has a job, the person does not have any impediments to employment.

Any more thoughts?

Thanks!

I was not talking about accommodations.

My agency simply paid for what I needed out of their budget such as reasonable accommodations, training Etc. I think that's how it should be.

Hello fellow rehab enthusiasts,

I have heard recently of a state agency serving the blind which has a practice of not allowing employees to become clients of the agency. I am told that this is because there have been confidentiality issues in the past. To me, this seems to violate the spirit of the rehab system, so I'm wondering if anyone knows if this is allowed.

Thanks for any input anyone may have!

Aloha,
Justin
