Hi Everyone,
See the message below from Alex Cohen of Accessible Pharmacy. They have
filled their outreach position for central Pennsylvania, but are looking
for a representative for Maryland. Apparently they have not found the
person they wanted yet, so I am sending this out once again. For those of
you who like getting in on the ground floor of things, this is a great
opportunity. I am posting Alex’s job vacancy once again as an attachment
and below.
Dick Davis, Chair
NFB Employment Committee
*Do you enjoy sales?*
*Are you active in your local blind & low vision community?*
*Accessible Pharmacy* is a comprehensive, home delivery pharmacy service
specializing in the needs of the blind and low vision community and their
families. We are seeking ambitious, blind individuals to help us sell our
services to the local blind and low vision community in the following
metropolitan areas:
- *Baltimore, Maryland*
We were founded by blind and sighted experts in the areas of accessibility,
technology and medicine and we are the only provider of its kind in the
United States. Our co-founder, and Chief Marketing and Accessibility
Officer was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa in his early 20’s. After
getting his PhD in marketing with a focus on retail accessibility, he
identified a massive void in the marketplace: medication management and
pharmacy services for the blind. After exhausting efforts to encourage the
nation’s leading pharmacies to be more accessible, we decided to create our
own marketplace!
What makes us unique is our ability to educate blind patients and family
members, healthcare providers and caregivers to implement the best
medication plan. Our goal is to achieve the best medical outcomes as well
as help patients become more independent. Our pharmacy professionals are
trained to understand the unique needs of those who are blind and low
vision. We can offer both high-tech and low-tech solutions to assist with
reminders, refills and error reduction and overall medication management.
There are no additional fees for this support.
We employ blind as well as sighted customer service and sales
representatives because we believe that the blind should create solutions
for the blind. We encourage our patients to be part of the ongoing process
to maximize the solutions.
In addition to prescription medication, we also supply: Vitamins &
supplements, over-the-counter drugs, health and beauty aids and small
medical equipment.
This isn’t just a job — it provides an invaluable healthcare solution to
your local community. You will be trained about the nuances and
benefits of *Accessible
Pharmacy* and you will be responsible for communicating this information to
your local blind organizations and individuals with full support from
the *Accessible
Pharmacy* healthcare team.

Good Morning Everyone,
I just wanted to provide a quick update as well as say "Thank You" for your
continued assistance in helping us find the right candidate.
We have hired Jason Polansky who started as a product of Maryland, but now
we have claimed him for Pennsylvania. He is just now beginning his training
and we expect him to be a star for our company. We are still seeking the
right candidate to handle Maryland for us, again, ideally looking for
someone around the greater Baltimore area.
Finally, I was hopeful that someone on this list might be able to make an
introduction for me with someone at BISM. We have had a great deal of
success working with other companies belonging to the N.I.B., and I would
be grateful for the warm connection.
Thank you very much!
Warmest Personal Regards,
Alex Cohen
