[Rehab] More Light Causing Happiness?

I can’t necessarily answer this but light does not cause happiness. However, natural light specifically does act on the human body in a way that produces an internal environment more conducive to higher energy/happiness, if you will. However, it would be different if one does not have eyes that send the messages to the brain that light is coming through. Skin does absorb natural light and can have an effect that way, but that would need to be direct light exposure to the skin.

That’s the extent of my knowledge, but it doesn’t necessarily answer your question. But hopefully does offer some insight.

I was sitting at my computer desk when I heard a knock at the front door. It was a friend of one of my downstairs neighbors with some leftover French bread from their dinner together. Anyway, I didn't have my lights on since I don't have any usable vision. She asked why I didn't have my lights on, and I told her it was because I don't need them when alone in my apartment. Later that evening another neighbor and I were discussing this. Apparently this friend had told him that I had no lights on. Here's my question. For those of us without any kind of mood disorder or anything like that, does light actually lead to more happiness? Have any rehab professionals on the list found this to be true? I'd write more, but I don't want to disclose anyone's personal information. I hope this all makes sense, and thank you for any responses. I was honestly a bit caught off guard by the question and in particular the conversation in the front hall that followed.
