Definition of Retail, Community and Legacy Plans, and Basic Information about Changes Coming in Early 2023
What is a Retail Plan?
Aira offers three different ‘off the shelf’ retail plans. They are called Intro, Standard and Advanced; each one includes a specific number of paid minutes and a corresponding monthly fee. Please note: All amounts referenced in this document are in U.S. dollars. For other currencies, please call Aira Customer Care.
1. 2022 Intro Plan, 30 minutes per month for $29.00
2. 2022 Standard Plan, 120 minutes per month for $99.00
3. 2022 Advanced Plan, 300 minutes per month for $199.00
Anyone with a mobile phone number in a country where we currently do business (United States, Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and the United Kingdom) can purchase one of these Retail plans and pay the monthly subscription fee. Today, purchases can be made from within the Aira app or by contacting calling Aira Customer Care by phone or email. Contact information can be found at the end of this document.
How do I know what Retail Plan I’m enrolled in?
You can check which Retail plan you are enrolled in by going to the Usage tab in the Aira app where you will find your plan type at the top of the screen. You can also check for your plan type on your monthly invoice under Description.
What does this mean to me when the new 2023 Retail Plans are announced?
If you are enrolled in one of these current Retail plans by January 16, 2023, you will be able to continue on that plan through December 31, 2023 without any change in price. The current 2022 Retail price per month will be honored through the end of 2023. Aira may modify other plan benefits, for example the number of free calls permitted, but the number of paid minutes and price per month will not change during this timeframe.
If you are not enrolled in one of these 2022 Retail plans by January 16, 2023, you will have the option to enroll in a new 2023 Retail plan beginning January 17, 2023. As we’ve communicated, the 2023 Retail plan prices will increase; the exact 2023 Retail plan names, number of paid minutes, corresponding prices and features, will be available during the first week of January.
What is a Community Plan?
As a benefit of membership, advocacy organizations offer 2022 Community plans to their members. While you purchase these 2022 Community plans directly from Aira, you do need to provide evidence of your membership.
NFB and ACB offer two plans:
1. 2022 Intro Plan, 30 minutes per month for $20.00
2. 2022 Enhanced Plan, 140 minutes per month for $99.00
CCB and AEBC offer two plans:
1. 2022 Power Intro Plan, 30 minutes per month for $20.00
2. 2022 Power Enhanced Plan, 140 minutes per month for $99.00
RNIB offers one plan:
1. 2022 RNIB Intro Power Plan, 30 minutes per month for 15.00 GBP
Anyone who can provide evidence of their membership in said organization, can purchase one of these 2022 Community plans and pay the monthly subscription fee. Today, all purchases are made by calling Aira Customer Care.

What is a Legacy Plan?
Over the years Aira has offered quite a few different combinations of paid minutes and corresponding prices, all together these are referred to as Legacy plans. When we introduced the current Retail plans – Intro, Standard, and Advanced – that you are familiar with, we made a decision to continue to honor the older plans, collectively defining them as ‘Legacy plans.’
The Legacy plans will not be honored after January 16, 2023. Anyone on a Legacy plan will need to choose a current 2022 Retail plan or a 2023 Retail plan before January 17, 2023.
How do I know what Legacy Plan I’m enrolled in?
You can check which Retail plan you are enrolled in by going to the Usage tab in the Aira app where you will find your plan type at the top of the screen. You can also check for your plan type on your monthly invoice under Description.
What will the process be to move from my Legacy Plan to a current 2022 Retail Plan?
Individual letters will be sent by email to each person on a Legacy plan. All Legacy plans are being discontinued and will end on January 16, 2023. The letter will provide instructions on how to move to a current 2022 Retail plan or a 2023 Retail plan before January 17, 2022. Please know that any balance of minutes in your account on January 16, 2023 will be transferred as Add-on Minutes; as a reminder, Add-on minutes never expire and are used after your plan’s minutes are used.
Names of Legacy Plans
Advanced, Advisor, Aira Active, AT&T Employee Unlimited, Australia Minutes, Basic, Basic GSA, Basic Pilot, Internal, Plus, Plus Pilot, Premium, Pro, Pro GSA, Pro VR, Site, Site NFB, Starter, VA Aira Service, Value
What are Purchased Minutes?
Purchased Minutes, also referred to as Aira Add-on Minutes, are bundles of minutes that can be purchased to supplement the minutes provided in your 2022 Retail plan. Add-on minutes never expire and are used after your plan’s minutes are used.
2022 Add-on Minute bundles are sold as follows:
* 2022 25-minute bundle is $30
* 2022 50-minute bundle is $50
* 2022 100-minute bundle is $90
What will change in January?
The prices for Add-on Minute bundles will increase in 2023. These prices will be announced at the same time as the 2023 Retail Plan prices are announced.
What We Are Asking You to Do
Please make sure we have your email address on file so we can keep you informed about these changes and about the new 2023 Retail Plans and Pricing. Instructions follow:
>From our iOS app:
1. Tap on the More tab at the bottom right of the home screen.
2. Tap on Profile.
3. Enter the email address at which you want to receive correspondence from Aira.
4. Close the Aira app in your app switcher.
Fro our Android app:
1. Tap on the navigation drawer in the upper left of the home screen.
2. Tap on Profile.
3. Enter the email address at which you want to receive correspondence from Aira.
4. Close the app.
When you reopen the Aira app, your email address will be sent to us automatically and you will begin receiving our newsletter and other Aira-related messages via email.
