HERNDON, VA – October 17, 2022 – Deque Systems <http://www.deque.com/> , the trusted leader in digital accessibility, announced today that the third annual axe-con conference will return next year on March 15-16th, 2023. With the success of axe-con <https://www.deque.com/axe-con/> over the past two years, Deque will continue to host the conference as a free virtual event again next year.
Axe-con is an open and inclusive digital accessibility conference that welcomes developers, designers, business users, and accessibility professionals of all experience levels to a new kind of accessibility conference focused on building, testing, and maintaining accessible digital experiences. Keynotes at this year’s conference include Molly Burke <https://www.mollyburkeofficial.com/> , speaker, digital creator, author, and advocate; and Gene Kim <http://www.realgenekim.me/> , a multiple award-winning CTO, researcher, and author.
“Each year, axe-con has standout speakers bringing a new take on how to advance digital accessibility forward. We’re ecstatic to have renowned thought leaders Molly Burke and Gene Kim join us this year,” said Preety Kumar, founder, and CEO at Deque Systems. “Making the web accessible to all takes education and passion; join axe-con for the best of both.”
According to a survey taken by Deque following axe-con 2022, 98% of attendees said they would join again for 2023 and 96% said they would recommend axe-con to a colleague. In addition to more inspiring speakers and sessions, the third annual axe-con will also feature the axe awards for individuals and organizations who have achieved incredible results in the digital accessibility field.
Last year, axe-con saw a global audience with more than 27K people registered representing more than 4,200 organizations and featured over 100 expert speakers, including Seth Godin, Entrepreneur, best-selling author, and speaker; Liz Jackson, Speaker and founding member of the Disabled List; and Jenny Lay-Flurrie, Chief Accessibility Officer, Microsoft.
