Accessible gaming, the new norm?
Gaming with a visual impairment can be a bit intimidating at times. That’s because of a simple misperception: that games are for people with sharp eyes, perfect hearing and fast reaction times. And yet small text, bad color choice, and split second decisions aren’t necessary for making a game a success. And as platforms become increasingly diverse and spread around the world, the gaming industry is starting to understand the need to appeal to the billions of would-be gamers worldwide who benefit from good accessibility.

Do you want to be featured on Be My Eyes’s social media?
We’re revamping our Community Stories! This means that you now have a chance to be featured on our social media channels. All you'll have to do is record a short video of yourself, briefly introducing yourself and answering one of the questions below. The video will be shared across our social media channels to give people a look into our diverse community of users and volunteers.
Below follows some specific instructions for the video:
* Please record the video in vertical mode (how you would normally hold your phone in your hand).
* Please make sure that the room is properly lit and not too noisy.
* When answering your selected question, please include the question in your sentence, so viewers can follow along without knowing the questions you're answering.
* Please be as brief and precise as possible and preferably keep the video shorter than 1 minute.
Please begin the video with a brief introduction on yourself touching on the following:
* Your name
* Where you're from
* What you do
* If you're a blind/low-vision user or a volunteer
* Your level of sight

What People are Saying
“Be My Eyes has really made a difference in my life as a visually impaired person. I’m using the app for daily tasks in my life. For instance, reading my electricity meter —which is something I have to do every month. But also to check the expiration date on my milk, or cheese, or yogurt. But also to sort my clothing, or books, or papers. And it always works!”
Yngve, User from Norway
“I want everyone to know, and hopefully tell people they know with vision impairment, that this app could not be any easier to use. The volunteers are there because they want to be, and they are on-call or answer calls when they want to, and when they can!”
Marian, user from Tennessee
