Meet the Next Big Thing Second-Round Judges!

Glen Gordon, Software Fellow at Freedom Scientific. Glen was the original architect of the JAWS screen reader and has been actively involved with the development of JAWS for nearly 30 years. He has spent over 25 years working to ensure that blind people running Windows can quickly and efficiently use applications to perform a diverse array of tasks. Blind since birth, his interest in accessibility developed out of a selfish desire to use Windows at a time when it was not at all clear that graphical user interfaces could be made accessible. He has an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School. He also hosts Freedom Scientific’s FSCast podcast.

Elizabeth Whitaker, Product Manager, User Education and Outreach at Vispero. Her team creates product documentation and training content so users can access the resources they need to increase productivity and proficiency. With over 20 years’ experience working directly with individuals who are blind or low vision, Elizabeth has taught a wealth of assistive technology tools in both public and private organizations. She has also developed and implemented various accessibility initiatives and vocational programs for State government. 

Jeremiah Rogers, Practice Manager at TPGi, a Vispero Brand. Jeremiah has used JAWS since 1992 and worked in the accessibility industry since 2001. He and his wife live in Charlotte, NC with three children ranging in age from 12-16. When he is not working, he is an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves, blues music, and laughing or crying in response to the strange things developers do as they build tools.

Campbell Rutherford, is a college sophomore studying Applied Mathematics at Harvard University. She is passionate about ensuring that blind individuals can access the technology necessary for them to succeed in school and the workplace, particularly in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Before college, she worked as both a website accessibility tester and an assistive technology instructor, specializing in teaching students to access and present mathematics materials, and she continues to take any opportunity she can to educate others about the importance of assistive technology in the daily lives of people like her.
