Visionary Innovation: Nathan Proudfoot showcases Nathan 14 at the 2024 BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition 

At the 2024 BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition, 16-year-old Nathan Proudfoot proudly showcased the Nathan 14 tablet, an innovative design to support visually impaired students. 

Developed by Nathan himself, who has a vision impairment, this 14-inch Android tablet, operating Android 12 and granting access to the Google PlayStore, boasts a custom-built calculator and a cutting-edge distance camera featuring a 4K 20x optical zoom lens. 

While still in the design stage, the Nathan 14 symbolises inclusivity, which Nathan hopes will help level the playing field for students with vision impairments.

We’ll be finding out more about Nathan’s journey in developing and designing the Nathan 14 in an upcoming Talking Technology Podcast.
