The upcoming free iBUG training and social events for May are listed below. Note: all times listed are Central Time (U.S.).  The events may be navigated by headings with your screen reader.  All events are available on the iBUG Zoom conference platform unless otherwise noted.

Please note the following iBUG Today program changes effective January 1, 2025.
1.    Trekkie Talk will take place on the first and third Thursdays at 7:00 to 8:30 PM and will feature discussion on the Star Trek – Voyager TV series.
2.    iBUG Mini-Buzz will take place on the second and fourth Tuesdays at 5:00 to 6:00 PM and feature Q&A on hardware and accessories that connect to iOS devices such as smart glasses and other wearables, smart things in the home, external chargers, speakers, etc. iOS Q&A will be held during the iBUG Buzz on Mondays, 7:00 PM.
3.    iBUG Unplugged will take place at 7:00 to 9:00 PM on the first Saturdays of the month.

** Event:   iBUG Unplugged: Dealing with Stress-Related Conditions

Details:  This month, our conversation will focus on dealing with anxiety and other stress-related conditions using mental health therapy and what one may expect in starting therapy. We will also explore how adjustment to blindness and/or some of the psychosocial challenges of blindness may explain mental health therapy as an important resource in living a more rich, full, and meaningful life as a blind or low-vision person. Our iBUG Unplugged session will be led by guest host, Darrel Kirby, LPC, MSW.

Darrel will also facilitate an exercise in identifying values and understanding the role of avoidance that prevent so many from living more fulfilling lives. He will also guide participants in how to engage with life’s moments in a more present and compassionate manner.
