Voice Control for Accessibility: Dictation and Navigation with Dragon, J-Dictate, and J-Say (Assistive Technology Webinar)
Wednesday, August 26, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. PT
Voice control technology has become an increasingly powerful option for users who rely on speech to interact with their computers, and the tools available today go far beyond basic dictation. In this session, Ian, Mark, and Elizabeth will walk through three of the most widely used voice control solutions - Dragon, J-Dictate, and J-Say - covering how each tool works, what it does best, and how it fits into the broader assistive technology landscape. Attendees will learn how to use voice commands to navigate applications, compose and edit text, and control the desktop environment hands-free, with practical demonstrations across each platform. The session will also compare the strengths and limitations of each solution to help attendees determine which tool best fits their individual needs and workflows. Join Ian Ramos, Mark Schafer, and Elizabeth Ratto from Access Ingenuity to learn how Dragon, J-Dictate, and J-Say can support more efficient and independent voice-controlled computing.

Making Social Media Accessible: Alternative Text, Captions, and Platform Best Practices (Digital Accessibility Webinar)
Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. PT
Social media has become one of the most widely used communication channels for organizations of all kinds, and accessibility on these platforms is no longer optional. In this session, Michael and Lauren will break down the practical steps for making social media content accessible, covering how to write effective alt text for images, add accurate captions to videos, and structure posts in a way that works for assistive technology users across major platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X. Attendees will learn how to evaluate their current social media content for common accessibility gaps and build accessible habits into everyday content creation workflows without overhauling an entire content strategy. The session will also address platform-specific tools and settings that support accessibility, and where manual effort is still required to get it right. Join Michael Parker and Lauren from Access Ingenuity to learn how to make your social media content accessible across the platforms your audience uses most.

Focus 640 Braille Display: The Next Generation of High-Performance Braille Access (ACVREP CE Approved, Assistive Technology Webinar)
Wednesday, September 16, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. PT
The sixth generation of the Focus Braille Display is the most powerful and reliable yet, and the new Focus 640 raises the bar for professionals, students, and power users who depend on braille access every day. In this session, Marisa and Ian are joined by special guest Joe McDaniel from Vispero to walk through everything the Focus 640 brings to the table, from its patented seamless cell cap and redesigned braille pin assembly to its intuitive four-way D-Pad controls and expanded Scratchpad with contracted braille support. Attendees will learn how the Focus 640 connects to multiple Bluetooth devices plus USB-C, delivers extended battery runtime, and works with JAWS for combined speech and braille access including BrailleIn and Braille Study Mode. The session will also demonstrate something braille users already know and content creators often miss: because a display renders element roles and states directly in the cells, an unlabeled button or a missing form label is immediately visible in braille even when speech output still sounds acceptable. Marisa and Ian will show what well-structured and poorly-structured content each look like on the display, giving attendees a new lens on the documents and websites their organizations produce. Join Marisa Church and Ian Ramos from Access Ingenuity and Joe McDaniel from Vispero to learn how the Focus 640 delivers exceptional braille performance wherever you need it. Note that everybody is welcome and can benefit from this presentation. If you are a teacher of the visually impaired (TVI), ACVREP continuing education credit is approved for this presentation.

Wednesday, September 30, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. PT
Accessible language learning has become more possible than ever for visually impaired students, and JAWS is leading the way.
