Mozilla Firefox

Mozilla is a global, non-profit organisation and community, focused on making the Internet open, accessible and private. They are best known for creating the free, open-source Firefox Web browser in 2004, as a faster, more customisable, more private Web browser, which it continues to strive to be today.
Mozilla advocates for user rights, promoting open standards for a healthier web. We admire this philosophy, and we love their logos!

We have decided to spotlight Firefox in our Shortcut of the Week for the next few months. Many of the shortcuts are the same in all the main Web browsers, but there are some that are specific to Firefox, so we will explain this as we go along.
At time of posting, we are using Firefox version 147.0.1, running on Windows 11.

This Week's Shortcut:

We're going back to managing Tabs in Firefox. This shortcut popped up last week as a solution for a colleague who was struggling to find a particular opened webpage.
When you have a load of open Tabs, it is very tricky to remember what order they are in. Earlier this year on Shortcut of the Week emails, we covered a shortcut that enabled you to step through them using Control + 1 for the first Tab, Control + 2 for the next Tab, etc.
But if you need to find something fast, try this:

1.	Press Alt + D for the Address Bar.
2.	Type the percent sign (%) and a keyword to search for a particular Tab.
3.	Arrow Down through the results.
4.	Press Enter on the required Tab to focus on it.

Or type the percent sign in the Address Bar and just Arrow Down through the full list, pressing Enter on the one you want.

This feature has a different shortcut in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge - Control + Shift + A. And it may be different again in other browsers.

You can find these shortcuts and previous shortcuts of the week on the website in the <https://sharons-shortcuts.us14.list-manage.com/track/click?u=b8f7789e1b727d353e4123491&id=4cc8a8d87d&e=d18fbd04e9> Shortcut of the Week section. As always, if you would like to find out or share a particular shortcut for an everyday task on your PC, please get in touch!
