If you don’t care what your hot dogs look like the microwave works.  I tell my kids they are explosive hot dogs.  I cut an X at each end and make small, shallow cuts on 2 sides of the hot dog.  do 30 seconds and move them on the plate and do another 30 seconds.  If in to long they sort of expand where you cut and get the funny shape.  You will not get a crispy skin though in the microwave.

I know how to cook just fine.  You wouldn't starve if you came to my house. 
In that last email, I left out three words.  I was trying to say I hadn't cooked other kinds of meat in the microwave except chopmeat and hotdogs. 
Not that I hadn't cooked other kinds of meat at all.  Pam.

Oh my dear, if we lived in the same state I would teach you how to cook.
I had a friend in Denver who wanted to cook her own roast.
So we got a roast potatoes and carets.
We put it all together and timed it.
She was so proud from that time on she always did a roast.
Now you can find a roast kit in the store, where it does well in the crock pot and oven.
The crock pot will cook your meal just fine.
