[Social-sciences-list] SPSS Setup

Hello all,
 
It is that old chestnut again!  Could someone please give me guidance on the
best version of SPSS to use with a 64 bit machine running Win 7 home?
 
I am using JFW 13 and would appreciate the steps necessary to make the
application as user friendly as possible.  I read on here that importing the
dataset via Excel is easier.
