Ashley,

         It's Carly, again.

I have taken yoga in every setting, practically speaking, from the
community center of the town in California where I grew up, to my
current athletic club, here in Berkeley.

I have also taken it at junior college. In every setting in which I
have found my practice, it is an intimate and unpretentious vibe, and
the instructor has no problem demonstrating, in a hands-on fashion.

I don't expect this should be a problem for you, either.

I am somewhat inclined to be flexible and to not mind the instructor
touching me in helping build the postures.
I have learned about the transcendental and meditative nature of
yoga, how to breathe.
I understand that some kinds of yoga are pretty extreme, and I plan
to explore those branches when y position in life changes.
For the most part I have only done
Ashtanga yoga, which I understand is kind of a weak incarnation of
the practice.
I have become quite aware of how the muscles' likelihood to striate
is directly related to the depth of my breath.
As you can imagine, the most hands on environment at which I am able
to find a practice is the LightHouse, here in San Francisco.
Keep us posted on your evolving relationship with yoga practice.
