[Sportsandrec] question about goals

Chris,

I am glad to hear you are setting goals. Goals are important and necessary. I think of it a little differently though. I set “goals” to reach my “objective”. Your five pull-ups would be considered your “objective”. Set maintainable and realistic “goals” day to day or week to week in order to meet your “objective” of five pull-ups in one month. This should allow you to recognize the smallest of improvements. Ultimately improving your strength significantly. As athletes, we all want that quick recovery. Be patient and take your time. At the end of one month. Reassess your strength and set new goals and objectives.

Good luck. Hope this helps. Sorry I wont see you in Colorado.

Greg

Hi everyone, I have been thinking a lot lately about what it
means to set a goal. So, I thought I would get your input. Do you
think it is important to set goals for your self as far as sports
are concerned? For me it is not only important but necessary. I
need to be working on achieving something that is tangible. For
example yesterday I did two pull ups for the first time sense my
shoulder surgery. The goal that I have set for myself is to be
able to do five pull-ups in the next month. I am interested in
hearing from you. Please also include your goals if you have any.
Chris
