[Sportsandrec] Jumping rope and pull-ups?

Good afternoon Joe,
Both of these activities require dedication as they both can be rather
energy intensive. I remember doing pullups before and after gymnastics
practice in sets of 30 along with dips in between sets. As for jump roping,
I don't do it as much currently, but I do enjoy the rhythm of the activity.
As with all exercise, I tend to be intensely motivated by music.
Right now, if you are looking to increase your number of pullups, I would
start out with a number you are comfortable with and doing at least 3 sets
of these a day for a week. Once you've done this, it shouldn't be too bad to
increase by 3 to 4 pullups per week until you reach your target number.
Currently, I use a pullup bar attached to my door frame purchased from:
http://www.drugstore.com
I'm back up to doing 5 sets of 20 pullups a day, but not nearly as many as I
was doing in gymnastics. Hope this helps.
Best Regards:
Dave Wright
