[Sportsandrec] Spur of the Moment Tandeming Idea for Detroit

Hi Listers,

I'm sending this to the list only because I don't even know if LM is getting
my messages. I've not heard back from her on any of them for the last few
weeks. So to play it safe I'm sending it to where I know I've been getting
through already. To the list. ;-)

So, LM, or anyone else now I suppose, what do you think of the possibility
of getting some tandem cyclists to ride in the March with us? Nothing
official, of course, since it's so close to convention. But maybe just a
few if possible, to add a little something regarding sports and recreation
and blind stokers, y'know? If the tandems are there at the gathering at the
end of the March, where we'll all be meeting, some of them might get seen in
the background or something, y'know? Just a thought. It seems as simple as
asking if anyone in the region would care to show up that morning, for a
ride--albeit a short one. We could hopefully get a few blind stokers on the
bikes too if they weren't set on walking. And even if we couldn't, we might
bring along a few extra NFB T-shirts to hand out to the stokers who might
not want to give up their seats. I think a few tandems here and there, and
a few Skating Canes here and there will help add some fun. If it doesn't
come together, though, at least we've got the skating canes. ;-)

Speaking of that, too. That's one of the messages I think I sent but
haven't heard back on. Can someone please tell me how to finally become one
of the skating canes, since I'm actually going to make it to my first
convention in, jeez, I don't remember how long. One of the 3 in Kentucky, I
think it was. Oy.

How do I join the Skating Canes, besides bringing some blades? Where do I
send the.... actually, it's too late to send it now. So who do I give the
money to in Detroit, and whoever that is, please bring an Extra-Large
T-shirt. Gotta have a Skating Canes shirt, y'know? ;-)

Are there S&R Division T's, too? Can't remember.

Strive On!
