[Sportsandrec] Swimming

About breathing, you mayy ask an experienced coach to help you with
technique. You are supposed to be able, while doing side-stroke, to create
a pocket of air beside your shoulder with every stroke and inhale it. At
first when I learned this it seemed like I would just suck water and drown
but it really does work. And since swimming is arobic you need all the air
you can get. Some feedback on technique also helped me with swimming
straight.

Hi,
Did you get a chance to swim with the AdaptTap last year in Dallas? I
absolutely love it because it offers solutions for all of the issues you
mentioned. For those of us who do not swim straight, you can set it up so
that there are touch points just the right space apart so that you can make
minuted adjustments so that you never get hung up in the lanes which
depending on the type, can be pretty nasty when encounted. And then the end
of lane detection is awesome and again you can control where you want that
to be set so you can customize for your own needs for doing flip turns, etc.
Come on everybody let's swim. Swim like a fish. Swim like a fish. The
wiggles.

Joe, I always loved the swimming! It was one of the last sports I could
kick tail in as a low-partial before I dropped everything in high school. I
remember getting hung up on the lane ropes sometimes, hitting my head when I
tried to flip instead of touching the wall and turning anddiving in on other
people as my bad moments, but always loved the freedom of the water. I had
the hardest time staying in a straight path doing backstroke. I would swim
a lot more now if I had access to a pool with no one in it to get in my
way. I've heard fat floats, so that would explain your sinking sensation.
Kelly will enlighten us all on this. If you keep doing those smooth strokes
in your black shorts you'll be on top in no time, regardless of your bulk.
Fourteen laps sounds like a heck of a good start! With your determination,
I know you will come out the winner.
