[Sportsandrec] Good mornin from Logan

Hi!
The presentation actually went really well! The students are sighted kids
who are health and exercise science majors and want to be like gym teachers
and stuff. The class in particular, Adapted PE, teaches them all about
helping kids with disabilities be mainstreamed into regular PE classes and
what kind of things disabled kids can do.
Even though I do this for the class every semester I get so nervous every
time. But it always turns out to be great. They all are so funny and really
seemed to like it a lot. Although they were warned, most guys forgot to
bring protective equipment and one poor guy got hit right in the jewels and
insisted on blocking backwards... diving out with his back towards the
opposing team. He looked ridiculous but it was fun.
It sure does seem for every glorious moment on the court there is at least
one not so great to back it up. You've definitely had some awesome
experiences though! (And no worries, I bet beating our guys in overtime was
just as great as us beating your ladies for the bronze in Kalamazoo :D) But
it's the combination of the two that makes it possible to learn anything...
I have a question that may sound kind of strange. How do you start in
defensive position? Do you play up, down, how?
My coach and I have been having an ongoing discussion about which way is
better in general and for me personally, and I like knowing how other people
have found success. Anyone who plays feel free to answer! Input rocks!!!

Hey all,

Danielle, wow, you stoning Asia on the last play of the game must have
been a great feeling! I could go on and on about memmerable court
moments, but here are a few:
Winning the 06 National Title, beating Florida 4-3. Winning the 01
National Championship, taking down Pennsylvania 6-4. There were
actually a couple from this past KZoo tournament. 1) Beating New
Jersey (sorry) in double overtime, advancing to the semi finals. 2) We
were down 4-2 to Ontario in the brons medel game. I scored 3 goals in
the second half and we went on to win 5-4. Yes, I could go on.
I also had a not so glorious moment there as well; when I tripped over
my center and banged up my knee... But let's not tell anyone about
that...

PS. Public speaking sucks and will always do so in my book.
How did the demonstration go?
