Yes, of course I always wore a life jacket even though the one I had was too
small and ridiculous. As for attire I just wore swim trunks and flip-flops.

Mike,
That's great you were successful in kayaking alone in the lake.  Lakes are 
smaller and probably safer to go alone in.  How long did you kayak before 
being tired?  Did you wear a life preserver in case your kayak turned over?
I'm not sure what atire people wear on something like this but I suppose 
just t shirts and light clothing.
