I hold certifications from NSCA, ACE, and ACSM. When I took the NSCA exam, there were parts that were not very accessible. These parts included watching videos and
lifting techniques and errors. I didn't bother with the books because of my exercise background, so I don't have any good information about the accessibility of the books.

The books for the ACE personal trainer course are available through RFBD (Learning Ally), at least the previous version was. Most of the ACSM books were also available, but again they were older versions.
Since RFBD already has agreements with the publishers of the ACSM and ACE publishers, they should be able to record the newer texts if given enough time (and it may take a little longer since the school year is getting ready to start soon).

Stacey, feel free to direct your friend to my email addy if [s]he has any other questions I may be able to answer.

Hope this helps.
